Tableau 10 is here! And thanks to your ideas, it’s one of our best releases yet. There are dozens and dozens of new features in Tableau 10, and many of them started as ideas from you, the community.

Every six months, the Tableau Ambassador program looks to find more enthusiastic, community oriented people to induct as new ambassadors. And this July was no different. We have nine new Tableau Ambassadors, three within each branch: the community forums, social media, and user groups.

Tableau 10 is coming, and in order to celebrate, we hosted the second annual Tableau Virtual User Group last month. If you thought last year’s was good, this year’s event was even better.

The Tableau 10 launch is just around the corner, and we here at Tableau headquarters are buzzing with excitement. To celebrate, we’re hosting a live Tableau 10 Virtual User Group this Thursday! Be sure to mark your calendar and tune in. The VTUG is all about celebrating you, the Tableau community, and showing you the magic of Tableau 10.

You’ve seen them in the Tableau community. You’ve been drawn to attend their user group meetings. You’ve been inspired by what they’ve shared in the social stratosphere. I’m talking about the new Tableau Ambassadors!

You asked, and we listened. Tableau 9.2 includes a much-anticipated feature suggested by you, the community. You can now move your grand totals from the bottom of your viz to the top, from the right to the left, or a combination of both! Wouldn’t it be easier if you could just put that total at the top of the bar chart? Well, good news! Tableau 9.2 now gives you this flexibility. You can move grand totals from the bottom of your viz to the top, from the right to the left, or a combination of both.

It’s an exciting time for the Tableau community. We recently added a new feature to make it easier for everyone to connect with each other. At Tableau, we believe that data isn’t limited by language; data is understood across the globe. That’s why we are proud to announce that the Tableau community now has auto translation for forum threads!

The ideas section of the Tableau Community is one of the biggest sources for product feedback. Tableau developers often look at it to get their inspiration for creating new features and improving existing ones. Tableau 9.1, currently in beta, is no exception. Close to 20 ideas have been marked as Released.

The Tableau Ambassador program has grown!
